U12/U14/U16/U18 Head Coach (Academy) - Read article for details

Academy Head Coaches are responsible for the coaching delivery and player development of all juniors within one of the four different age groups (U12, U14, U16, U18) within the Academy. They are responsible for implementing the Development Phase of the SHC LTAD Model with the main focus being on Talent Development.

Deadline for applications – Friday 2nd July
Contract – Part-Time (expected 3hrs per week for 35 weeks)
Employment Status – Self Employed (Contracted)
Remuneration – To be discussed on application.

What is my role?

  • Work under the DoH within the team of Academy Head Coaches.
  • Work with DoH to appoint Assistant Coaches where needed for your age group, who will report to you.
  • Create a season long programme for your specific age group that will develop players in line with the SHC LTAD model.
  • Manage your Assistant Coaches & facilitate link with Coach Educator.
  • Monitor & assess development of players in line with LTAD expectations.
  • Plan (& Deliver) sessions for you and your Assistant Coaches across the season in a fun but stretching environment, implementing the SHC Cultural Values.
  • Develop coach-player relationships to act as mentors to your players within your group, taking ownership of the development of each individual you work with.
  • Assess and provide reports on your players to assist with their selection into club teams and EH Pathway, and for further planning of their individual development.
  • Work with the Academy Team Managers, advising them on selection for Junior Competitions and attendance at matches (if possible).
